Beam Issue

I'm having an issue getting some beams right. I have dotted eight, sixteenth rest, sixteenth note, which I want beamed together. I have two notes, separated by a rest and no selection in the Beam Pallette seems to affect this. The target issue is measure 5 in the attached pdf, for which I apologize. I would have just clipped the affected measure, but could not figure out how.
