Text and image capture in a frame

At the bottom of the first page of a score, I would like to put a "Performance note": mainly text, but also a snippet of staff notation (a list of notes in scordatura). Creating the snippet, by creating a second file and then using image capture--no problem. But how do I paste it into a specific place in the text? Should I use a Text Frame, or a Vertical Frame, with text added? And--if necessary--is there a way to ensure that it falls at the bottom of the first page, and not, say, at the top of the second?

I am working on this in Version 3, as I find the way 4 handles certain text and frame elements a little, say, unpredictable.
