When adding chord symbols to any instrument, the property titled "Play" has no impact on the playback. This exists in the properties editor under General.
In addition, the setting to disable chord symbol playback for all chord symbols in a score does not work either. This is found under format -> styles -> chord symbols -> play.
In the file attached below, the chord symbol both has its "Play" property disable AND the style -> chord symbols playback option is also disabled. As can be heard in the playback, this has no effect.
I am fairly certain that this has been an issue in MU3 as well.

The chord symbol in your score plays perfectly for me in MU4. be sure you haven't disabled chord symbol playback completely via the option under the settings icon on the playback toolbar.
The chord symbol in your example has play enabled, so it plays indeed. If I disable the play, then it stops playing, as expected. it also works to mute the chord symbol channel in the mixer, as expected.
There is no "play" setting in the style dialog in MU4, by design. Instead, all those other controls are provided.
If you continue to have problems, please give precise steps to reproduce the issue.
