Midi Keyboard input with version 4?
It appears that Midi keyboard input is not yet possible with version 4 (I have 4.0.1). Can someone confirm and advise when this might be added/fixed?

MIDI input definitely works. Be sure you have connected and turned on your keyboard before starting MuseScore, and that it is selected for input in Edit / Preferences / I/O.

Can you explain what you mean in more detail? Are you running the latest 4.4 AppImage build? Have you selecte your MIDI device in Edit / Preferences / Audio & MIDI? Did you enable note input mode?
MS 4.2.
Does not work with Arturia Keylab 88
I have no doubt that it's possible, but if I can't find the i/o button it's definitely not. This morning I opened a new HP laptop, installed Musescore, logged into my account, connected my new Casio Privia PX S11100 to the laptop via bluetooth , watched the instructions for connecting a MIDI keyboard to Musescore, clicked edit/preferences, and no i/o button like in the video. The test notes I typed into musescore played back through the keyboard speakers, but no input. Reverted to factory settings, no change at all. Here is a screenshot; please advise.

It still works for me, in version 4.4. There is a little latency, but better than previous 4.x versions. I connect via USB. To view settings, go to Edit>Preferences>Audio & Midi and make sure your device appears. Also, you you have to enable midi input -- very top menu bar, gear symbol next to metronome.

Thanks! I did all of that, still where I was; I'm thinking perhaps that I need to use a cable, not bluetooth to connect. Going to check the Casio website to see if I need to download any drivers from there.

The Bluetooth connection is very likely audio and not MIDI, so yes, you probably need a physical USB connection to get MIDI.

Sure enough, for MIDI connection to computer software, the Casio website specifies a cable. Going to Amazon now. Thanks Marc!

The I/O tab has been renamed Audio & MIDI

Aha! I figured that out, but still it says "no device", although the musescore piano is playing through the keyboard when I type notes, there is no input from the keyboard; perhaps I should be using a cable instead of bluetooth? Going to check the Casio website, maybe there's a driver there that I need.

Sucsess!!! The USB cable is necessary for the keyboard to input notes. No more struggling to remember that cool chord I just played :) The journey begins...
