Musescore 4 stops playing after 4-5 measures
Musescore 4 stops playing after 4-5 measures, no matter if using Mus sounds or MS Basic sounds. When it stops instruments in mixer are not visible anymore, if you close the programs it remains active in task manager, no possibility to terminate it, PC must restart.
OS: Windows 10 Version 2009, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.2-230651553, revision: dbe7c6d

In order for someone to investigate, we'd need you to attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.

The playback stops before the end, I have to save and close the program, but it remains into activities and it is not possible terminate the activities (see "pending tasks" please). Using Musescore 4.0.2 in Windows 10.
I have to export to xml and open it with Musescore 3.6.2 to work on it...
PS: opening the program the keyboard it's always present; if I close it, it appears again next time.....
Many thanks

I have downloaded your score and it plays on my system without any issues.
Open dialogs are "remembered" in the score. If you want to prevent the piano to re-appear, close the dialog and save the score. Thinking because of the "crash" it does not save the last state correct.
I also don't see anything in your score that could cause this, there are just two instruments playing near the end. None of that is really complex.
Might be due to the fact I am running on Windows 11.
Can you export the score to audio without issues?
Do you have other instances of MS open/running?

Thanks Henk, also exporting to MP3 causes stop and I have to force closure of the program. But in task manager MS4 remains open as two instances (as in my jpg) and I have to restart Windows 10 to try yo play again - and It stops again....
For the keyboard I was doing like you describes but It appears anyway

I have also tested on a less powerfull system, though still Windows 11...but no problem in that system as well.
What type of audio driver/interface are you using?
Does it only happen with this score?

Also, I have now tested on a Win 10 laptop same version 2009 as you have an no problem here as well.
What I do find a bit odd is that in your taks manager screenshot, there are 3 MuseScore processes, while on my system I have only 2 named MuseScore and 1 named crash-pad_handler. I wonder if this is related to the issue or not. Have you tried doing a "revert to factory settings" or tried to re-install MuseScore?
PS> When I download your score on this Win10 laptop, the Pianokeyboard was not being displayed.

One more thing, I noticed there is a value populated in Project properties - Source.
Maybe removing that makes a difference?

Marc, Like others, my Musescore 4 stops playing after 4-5 measures. I use Windows 10. I terminated the program in the Task List and restarted my computer. I have not had this issue with any other files. Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thank you, Stephen Truso

I opened your score in W11. Playback stops after the first line. No idea why. However when I C+P the first few lines into a new score, it plays fine, for me anyway. No idea why.

Looks like this score was imported via a PDF and has some strange corruptions that weren't detected. I tried to clean it up some - it no longer chokes on bar 5 - but it's still got some of the more normal sorts of errors one can normally expect from PDF import.

Thank you very much for examining the file and for making changes.
