Feathered beam option not working for groups of notes

While running MuseScore 4.4.4.243461245, revision 2232670, I've been unable to add feathered beams from the "Beam properties" palette to a group of eighth notes. Whether I select three or five or all of the eighth notes, clicking on the feathered beam option (accelerating or decelerating) does nothing. I have tried selecting just the beam or just the notes, or both combined. Nothing is working. A previous thread of this nature suggested that uninstalling and re-installing MuseScore might fix the issue, but I was wondering if there was an easier way to solve this problem.

Additionally, the feathered beam option does not appear under the "Beam" section on the Properties panel as the article at https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/beams says it should. The attached score contains the group of notes I'm trying to add a feathered beam to.
