The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) "401 Unauthorized" response status code indicates that the client request has not been completed because it lacks valid authentication credentials for the requested resource.

If this is happening, how would I find out how to validate a score and authenticate it?

with all due respect, that's not the case. I am registered and logged in. Also, in musescore 3 when that was the case I would be asked to log in at that moment and I surely hope they didn't get rid of this feature
