Canging symbols in a palette using 2.0 beta
Is it in 2.0 beta possible without having to create a new palette, to change within the fingering palette: p, i, m, a, c into italics?
Trying to create an extra(new)fingering palette containing these symbols still gives me problems due to lack of handbook info.
Thanks.

Hello,
It is necessary to create an extra new fingering palette to have fingerings into italics. So:
1) Enter p, i, m, a on a score
2) Double-click (on each one) to get the text mode edition
3) Modify into italics
4) Drag and drop them (by pressing Ctrl + Shift during all the operation) in the fingering palette.

Thanks cadiz1 for your help. Indeed I can make the new symbols and put them into the fimgering
palette that way. But, when I try to use them by selecting a note, then double clicking on a particular fimgering symbol it still appears as a normal symbol and not an italic. The other way:Drag and drop the symbol on a particular note does also result in a normal in stead of an italic one.

It's surprising. I just re-experience, by double clicking on the symbols in italics, and I get the desired result on the score, as you see. I used MuseScore 2.0 Beta1.

It is surprising for me too!! I again started the new score using the fingering palette
with the new ITALIC symbols which is looking exactly as yours with the same result
DIFFERING from yours: NO italics.
Getting a little bit desperate here.

Using current development build, it works fine for me using both double click and drag&drop to add the italicized fingering marking. However, note you must follow the steps above exactly - in particular, you must use the text toolbar at the bottom of the screen to create the italicized marking. Or, you could apply a different pre-defined text style. But using Text Properties does *not* work. You'll get an italicized marking, and it will appear italicized in the palette, but it will add to the score as normal. Perhaps that is what you are doing "wrong"? It's probably a bug that Text Properties doesn't work, but maybe it's relate to the fact that palette items apparently cannot have custom text styles.
If that's not it, then can you reset to factory settings, re-create your custom palette, and try again?

That is exactly what happened when I tried to add the new symbols.
Doing it the way you wrote gives the desired result. Thanks.
Is this a reason to add it to the 'bugs' list or did I execute it the first time not in the 'right' way according to the handbook?

I'm not sure of the correct behabior. It could be a bug that Text Properties doesn't work, but as I said, it could be related to the fact that custom styles don't / cannot work. I guess you might as well submiut the bug report, then if someone can explain why it isn't a bug, we can always close it.
