Direct the playback to not play a note if there is not a lyric associated with it?
Is it possible to direct the playback to not play a note if there is not a lyric associated with it?
In the attached example, I would like it not to play the note in:
- measure 2, last note, 2nd time through
- measure 4, 2nd note, 1st time through
Note that the small notes are just my convention to indicate that the note is not played in both passes.

In the note's properties untick Play

Unless I am mistaken, then the note would never play. I want to to play only if a lyric is attached. In retrospect, this would require the playback to know about the 2 different levels of lyrics.

Yes
I believe: No!
Use a volta for a different ending. But this does not solve the measure 2 problem.
In my opinion only "Unroll Repeats" and modifying this measure is a solution.
