Umlaut marks??
As far as I know, the umlaut is not used in musical notation. See Wikipedia article:

Look in the ornaments palette. Here is a mordent with upper prefix which I think is what you want.

I think they mean the accidental above the mordent, just like an umlaut is a symbol above a letter. But instead of calling it an auxiliary note, they call it an umlaut. Cute.
