Ghost Notes / Pickup Notes
So, this may have been answered before. but I have looked and can't find what I'm looking for.
I am arranging a song for pep band and there is supposed to be a little 8th or 16th note pickup right before the fourth 8th note as in the image below. I am very new to Musescore and composition in general and it has just become a headache.

There is no 8th or 16th note "pick up" in your image. But I guess the thing you are asking about is generally known as a "grace note". See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/grace-notes for information on the different types available and how to add them.
