Merging S&A lines

I have merged my S&A and T&B lines but now if I delete the unwanted line it also disappears from the merged line. How do I get rid of it correctly?
I also have trouble changing name of new line to Soprano & Alto

No, it doesn't
As mentioned in https://musescore.org/en/node/332062#comment-1209417:

Change Soprano 'instrument' to Women (via right-click into the staff, Staff(part properties), change long name to "Soprano/Alto", short name to "S./A." (replace / with a return, linefeed)
