Beaming 8th notes in 4/4
Hi,
in 4/4, 8th notes are beamed by MS in groups of four by default, which is OK. I seem to remember, however, that there was an option somewhere to change that default, for example to beam in groups of two (every beat instead of two beats), which is also possible and often more convenient.
I can't find that option anywhere, though, and I'm beginning to think that perhaps I just imagined it.
Could anyone tell me if there is such an option? How can I make MS beam 8th notes in groups of two by default?

Thanks for the prompt response, this is very useful.
I don't see, however, a way to make this the default for the score, like at the style level. As far as I can see, I have to change this for every system in the score, and if I change to a different time signature and then I return to 4/4, I have to change the properties for each system again.
Is there a way to make this global?
Thanks!

Follow the link from that article to this one. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/time-signatures#time-sig-properties
You need to create a time signature with the beaming properties set as you want. Add this to the palette and then use it wherever you want that style of beam grouping. See here for how to create a custom time signature. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/time-signatures#custom

Thank you very much, that's definitely very useful.
