New User Questions
I know the answers to all questions are go-read-the-manual.
But having so much enthusiasm I can't wait!!
Thanks to those of you who have answered previous questions!!
- Is there a shortcut to change a quarter note to an eight note?
- Is there a way to toggle the stem (e.g. down to up)
- You know how one can select a bar and hit enter to move music to the next line ...
What is the shortcut to do opposite? (Move music to the current line.) - Is there a file I can edit so every time I create a new score it uses Acoustic Guitar?
- Is there video that will get me started where I create a chord with some notes as half notes and others as eights?
6.Is it possible to validate that all (or all in a selection) measures in a score match the time signature? - Is it my imagination? Or does the playback for 'Acoustic Guitar' sound like a piano? I wonder if there's a deployment error in MuseScore 4.

The handbook will likely provide better answers than you will get here. So curb your impatience and start reading. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4
You can get some short answers, but the manual is really the best place to go.
I've given some keywords you can use to search in the manual.

For non-metered measures (e.g., any not matching the time signature) see :
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/pickup-and-non-metered-measures
especially this part:
"If, at any time, the total duration of the notes and rests within the measure does not match the time signature, a small + or - sign will be shown above the measure."

Welcome aboard...
Also, regarding meter -- it is found both in music and in poetry:
There was a composer named Brit
Whose songs into measures won't fit.
And when they asked why,
He said: "I do try!
But when I get to the last bar, I seem to use too many notes to fill it."
