Indeed, it seems that it's one of those Mac features:
"The easiest way to access the Spotlight Search function is to use the Command + Space shortcut key. You can
use Spotlight Search to search for documents by their names or the content in them."
So, Mac intercepts the keystroke code and prevents MuseScore from receiving it.
