Adding accidentals to an instrument name
I'm writing a part that changes between three kinds of clarinet: clarinet in A, clarinet in B-flat, and bass clarinet in B-flat. I'd like the instrument names to include the full name, complete with accidental if necessary, but I can't figure out how to do it. The most I can do is (for example) Bass Clarinet in Bb (with a lowercase 'b' in place of a flat sign), but that doesn't look good at all. And just so you can see the screen I'm working with, I've attached a screenshot of the Stave/Part Properties window. Thanks.

Long instrument name contains full name when you add new instrument. But it contains short name when you replace instrument. This is weird.
I have no idea how to do this right, but as a workaround you can add new instrument, copy its name to the old instrument and remove new instrument.

Not for me, it doesn't. Working fine with:
OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.1.1-232071203, revision: e4d1ddf
Another way would be to apply the change instrument text to the staff. It will say "To Clarinet". Edit it to add "Bb". then select the lower case b. in the properties palette, change the font to "Opus Text Std". Don't know if it is worth it.
Try Ctrl+Shift+B
Darn, works only in text edit mode.
So add a staff text use Ctrl+Shift+B, copy/cuts and paste it to the instrument name, remove the
