change note symbol in jazz style tempo markings
When I add a tempo marking to a jazz score (Mac, Musescore 4.1.1) I get a note value symbol that I guess is supposed to look "jazzy", but which is at odds with the font for the tempo value and doesn't look anything like the jazz note symbols in the score itself.) I'd like to change the symbol to something that looks less clunky, but changing the font has no effect and I'm not sure how/if it's possible to change the style of just the tempo marking. (the note value symbol in a non-jazz score looks like a standard engraved font.)

Hi, are you speaking of the "look" of the note , or for the "value" of it......quarter note or half note........??

It's the look of the note, which doesn't appear to correspond to anything in any of the Musescore Font sets. The symbol-to-tempo translation works fine. The symbol appears to be a special character, not a font, but when I try to change it using the special characters menu, it still comes up as the "jazzy-style "symbol.
