Custom Dynamic

I need this dynamic in a single measure: decrescendo p crescendo. The words would be symbols. How do I make it?

Apparently this will become a lot easier in a future update of MS4. But right now you have to attach the anchor points of hairpins (cresc. or decresc.) and dynamics (p, mf, f) to existing notes or rests in the measure.

So for now you have to use a workaround by creating hidden rests in an unused Voice:

Add:

  • go into note entry mode (default: Step-Time), select voice 2, press 4 for eighth notes/rests and enter rests with '0'.

Hide:

  • either right click on a voice 2 rest and use "Select -> More... -> same voice". Then press 'v'.
  • or use the selection filter to select only voice 2 notes/rests and press 'v'.
