Does the MuseScore 4 inspector have Stacking order (z)
I frequently used MS3's Stacking Order property to control the z axis positioning of various elements, like SVGs, PNGs or Staff text objects.
Anybody know if we have that control in MS4.2.
If so, where is it located?
Thanks!

As you may know, there is no inspector on MU4. There is a properties tab. Select the element you want to move. In the properties tab select "Appearance". Depending on what was last selected you might have to hit it twice. Anyway, look for the "Offset" setting to move things up and down or left and right. "To front" and "To Back" are there also.

Thanks for the correction!

Previously I tried moving the object "to front" and it didn't show as atop the other. But I tried again just now and it worked. Another MS4 mystery ...
It's frustrating that in MuseScore 4 the z axis granularity is reduced to Forwards / Backward or To Front/To Back. In MuseScore 3 we could set a numeric Stacking value, and in knowing the values of various objects—like staff lines, notes, text objects—it was easy to set the z axis for the desired affect.
I have a hard time appreciating the regressive fuzzy logic in this.

I confess to not having any idea what Stacking order is. Even after reading about it just now in the v 3 manual. I imagine it could be useful in tab and drum set notation. Both of which I avoid.
I realize that makes me unqualified to have an opinion on such matters. I don't think I found anything about front to back etc. in the v4 manual. I can't recall ever needing anything like it. That doesn't mean it isn't of value, of course.
What I have found is that MU4 does a host of things differently than MU3. And sure, some things not at all. It is hard for me to view things that are different as being regressions. And things that are left out seem to be just not implemented yet. The list of things to be work on is indeed huge. To me, something that is never implemented might be a regression. Just depends on if it was very important to begin with.
For example, the update today finally makes pauses work. After all this time. Since I write for playback, pauses are far more important than element placement. Far more important than the save button or camera.
And I always felt MU3 was lacking many things I was used to from other software.
And don't get me started on the drum palette.
Anyway, That's just me. We all need what we need.
This stacking order issue that shows the need for a better default Fingering frame stacking order (Note: the frame backgrounds is set to light blue to illustrate):
• The Fingering frames should stack "above" the staff, which they do
• They should also stack behind most staff related objects like noteheads, stems, beams ...
• The {stacking order display should be consistent between the MuseScore app and online at MuseScore.com](https://musescore.org/en/node/333547)
