Bagpipe Music Strathspey (Common Time)
Experiencing difficulty writing cut/dot 1/8 rhythms at end of bar. I want a cut eight with dotted eight. However, whenever I attempt this MuseScore adds a tie to the first note of the next bar and changes the value(s) of connecting notes.
How do I resolve.

Yes, wont allow me to change two 8th notes to a cut 16th joined to a dotted 8th.

Just do a sixteenth and then a dotted eighth?…

How is a cut 16th different from a normal 16th ?

The original question was about creating a cut eight note joined to a dotted eight. I've never heard the term "cut eight" before. But as I thought about it ( thinking being painful ), a 16th note seemed correct. So I changed the first 1/4 note to a 1/16 note. Then entered note input mode and entered a dotted 1/8 note right after the 1/16 note. The "joined" aspect would be the beam connecting them.
