Trying to use The MuseScore metronome to play a melody on my MIDI keyboard and record it into MusScore 4.
First the metronome beats a steady pulse, but the melody is NOT recorded.
In another instance, as soon as a MIDI key is struck, the note is recorded, but then the metronome immediately starts beating at a frantically fast pulse.
Am I missing something? Isn't there a way to record a melody into MuseScore 4 using a MIDI keyboard as one would do in Finale with HyperScribe?
The YouTube tutorials speak of recording a melody which uses only a single rhythmic value, such as a quarter note. My melody uses various pitches AND various rhythmic patterns.

What you're looking for is to be expected in this era of notation. Sadly MuseScore's "real-time note entry" is very different from what most of us expect from a feature of that name.
