Resetting measure numbers

I am working on the cello part of a sonata and stumbled over the following problem: The first movement has 238 measures. The second movement must begin with measure number 1. But Musescore 4.2. seems to only allow resetting down by -99 (-237 would be required).

I did the same thing in February this year with another sonata and had no problem doing this. Presumably my Musescore was then version 4.1.

Question number 1: Does anybody have an idea how to circumvent this (I want all four movements in one file. This gives me more flexibility to arrange for suitable page turns)

Question number 2: This is obviously not a bug but an altered feature. But: WhY???
