Add some elements with an only selected note?
A question that comes suddenly In mind when pursuing my thinking on this issue:
http://musescore.org/en/node/36396
Currently, when you select a note (become blue), you can add one element and only one: dynamics, fingering, lines, etc.
For as soon as the added element, the selection becomes inactive.
If you want another member of the same "family" (or same palette), or from other palette, you must re-select for adding a new element.
Otherwise, in the case of multi-selection of notes (via Ctrl), the act of releasing the key or not (before the double-click in the palette), does not change anything.
In my wildest dreams (!), would it be possible to consider a note, or notes, remains selected (still blue) while adding the desired items. This would generate a considerable time savings on adding these elements.
How to keep the selection of these notes the time necessary for adding? By a permanent pressing on Ctlr, or with combination with an other key, or other means?
Understand that I have no idea of the feasibility of this feature? However, I understand that she made easier and faster these operations!

If you examine your picture, you'll see that after the adding a fingering or other marking, the marking itslef is now selected. That's often a good thing, as it means you can, for instance, immediately adjust its position with the arrow keys. I am not sure I'd want to give ease of working with the markings I add just to make it easier to add multiple markings to the same note. Depends on what sorts of hings you typically do, I guess.

The time is far now, where, in version 1.3, I dragged from the palette, and I placed each fingering (until the note wants turn to red!) to each note, and then repositioning it as desired.
And so on for each note and each new fingering. I spent hours and hours, and probably much more! Painful!
Life is short.
You realized that the way I work now, is in the aim to improve the efficiency of these operations of fingering, which are not especially rewarding.
So for the left hand fingering, I target and selects all the notes that will have, for example, the number 1, and I double click in the palette. And I restart with numbers 2, 3, and 4. And then, I move the all in one block with "All similar elements, etc." It is almost unnecessary correcting the position after that.
Alas, the story does not end there, because you have to restart all over with the letters now for the letters and the right hand (except I can't move this block independently, see other thread)
My idea was thus intended, by keeping the selected note, of optimizing the fingering entry time in a considerable manner. Only that! :)
NB: as I have a lot regretted not having earlier requested the functionality (active now since some weeks) to not deselect the note (with Ctrl) when you missed your target, well now, I may advance this idea, that I throw as a bottle into the sea ...

I realize that *if* you are often adding multiple fingerings to the same note, and are *not* often adjusting positions manually, then your change feels like a win.
but consider, it's not just fingerings that are affected. It also affects articulations, dynamics, etc. And I think it would not be uncommon that some people might add a dynamic or articulation to a note then *immediately* want to fine tune it in some way, so that having the marking itself selected is good.
What neither of us knows is, which of these two use cases is more common. That is, immediately after adding a marking to a note, which is the more common thing to want to do next: add another marking, or adjust the marking you just added. For me, *neither* are common enough to care about. But I suspect there are people who are more likely to want to adjust a marking than add another marking to the same note and they might be just as passionate that the current behavior is better than the one you are proposing.
Certainly, when I think about how other programs work, it's pretty normal that any time you add an element, that element is selected. I'm thinking not just about other notation program, but graphics programs, desktop publishing program, etc - anything with a basic model that involves placing objects on a canvas. Usually, when you add an object, it is automatically selected.
