New MuseScore logo?
I admit I won't miss the old MuseScore logo, which looks like an elephant showering itself.
But I don't know if I can coexist with the new logo I saw on musescore.com today
Is that official? Did they inadvertently post the submission that took last place???

It is official, got announced on Discord

yikes. at least the old logo had some relation to music notation... not some ying-yang symbol tripping over a traffic cone...

it looks like Smusescore now, but in the tab bar (the favicon) looks like c͗ instead, which is almost as ridiculous as the awful colour.
and Muse Group’s logo is apparently “Ni” now. shrug

It's a stylized S as in MuseScore, just as the M of Muse is stylized and is not "Ni". Muse Class has a stylized "C" and Muse Hub an "H".
I like this new set of logos: a sort of 'modern-retro' style.

Still I think it could be MS and not purple :P

MS would be a mismatch with the single letter codes for the set and would require Muse Class to be "MC" and Muse Hub to be "MH" for consistency.

I can somewhat see the S in the Scusemore (former musescore.com) logo in large sizes; in the favicon, it decays into a c͗ though.
But I cannot see the other thing as something other than “Ni”.

What an awfull looking new logo, it's a complete mess.
It looks like there's a move to unify the various Muse Group products with a similar "logo font", or iconography:
As stated in the above link provided by @graffesmusic: "A MuseScore Studio logo is on the way soon".

Aha... Looks like Audacity now joined the group!

I wonder what that particular ridiculousness costed. The fonts from the announcement page are good as illegible, too.
:/
i actually like the old logo it made more sense to me. "Mu" with a fermata. and its one of those weird logos but iconic

some people on the Scusemore (.com) site have likened it to an elephant bathing itself, but I find it iconic as well

Well, thank you for that! If I may quote (italics mine):
" We have chosen the wordmark for its neutrality, its discreet presence and also its clear vision, purity, balance and its link with music. Also its timelessness, it is not trendy so it will likely survive longer. This can not be said of the other logos, although there are very good ones in between.
When used, it will not put a "heavy weight" on a page or other media. It will not ask too much attention, it will not cause inconvenience to other content but it will be there, working in silence ... in all its simplicity."
Well, fifteen years is a good run, even for a wet elephant:-)

The new ones are way too trendy. And I’ll think the old one will live on in 2.x and 3.x builds people use all over the community for long, anyway. Perhaps longer.
Thanks for the link!

LOL now I can't unseen the cute elephant anymore. But come on, why so negative? I appreciate the contrast in color between the two sites now, dot com is purple and commercial, dot org is blue and free. What more could you ask for?

I've always seen the elephant ... and liked it :-D
But the new logos are good too. "six of one ..." I'm not very brand conscious. Advertisers hate people like me.
