fingering and dynamics

If found that if I enter my dynamics in the score and the go to enter fingerings;
then use the option/command "F" to bring up the fingering window this does
not work on a note that is assigned to start of the dynamic in the measure.
Not sure how to check if this a know issue. Not a Killer, but then have to select the note and
then using the fingering pallet when enter a number.
