I don't think it depends on the Language updates, but check from Edit/Preferences.
Try downloading again and/or try a Nightly:https://musescore.org/en/download#Development-builds
Mu4 won't replace Mu3, but live with it peacefully and side by side
What machine, what OS etc. etc.?
Your file explorer/manager/seeker or whatever might still be associating MSCZ files with MS3 instead of MS4. Try finding the executable MS program.
