Insert every single function on the main panel / window of MuseScore, even from the deep menu

• Sep 2, 2024 - 12:25

It would be a very useful feature to be able to assign any function to the main MuseScore window, even one from deep in the menu, and create your own user-assigned function bar.
That is, I create a “Text / Words” bar (next to or below the note entry bar on the main MuseScore window) and enter into this bar any function useful to me that I will use frequently, such as Font, Font Size, Font Color, Bold, Underline, Italic, etc.
The point is and not to search every time for a particular function that you use frequently, and especially not to enter a favorite function through several menu functions (not to fumble to a particular function through a deep menu).
This would be very useful for many MuseScore users who would like to have more control over the main MuseScore window/panel to make their work with this program much easier and faster.

Sadly I can see a severe disadvantage to this idea of an "Everything / Anything" function bar.

It would really complicate support on these forums, because it would be difficult to know what a user's screen layout and custom function bar actually look like. At present we know with certainty which Toolbar items are shown by default and also which optional items are hidden by default.

I wrote about this, thinking it would improve working with MuseScore.
I am very keen on having many functions visible.
The idea is that it would allow you to create your own bar in the main MuseScore window and display your favorite functions all the time, so you don't have to wade through a lot of functions in the menu to get to the one function you need at the moment.

Below is an explanation of what I meant:
To be precise, what I had in mind was an additional taskbar (not a large - narrow - single-line one), placed at the top of the MuseScore window, to which you could attach manually the functions that are favorite to you and that you use frequently, even if they are hidden in a deep menu.
Such an additional bar, would not affect the entire layout of the MuseScore window.
Nor would it cause problems, since it would be, after all, those functions that are already in MuseScore, just that selected and on top.
Adding favorite functions, could be done by, for example: Copying or Moving or Adding a favorite feature to the favorites bar, located on the main MuseScore screen.
This would make the work of writing notes much easier and faster.
