Have you perhaps turned off the Toolbars by mistake? Check these settings:
View > Toolbars > Playback control
View > Toolbars > Note input
View > Toolbars > Status bar
Have you switched to the Publish tab rather than the Score tab. You can't edit in the Publish tab. You can edit in the Score tab.
