Musescore 4 closed on its own without prompt nor error message; progress is deleted.

I had been working on a score for the past while, when musescore suddenly closed itself out completely. I opened it back up to find the song I was working on had been reverted back to an earlier version I had started working on today. I did some looking in other posts, but nothing seems to help. My Musescore, for whatever reason, has no autosave files whatsoever, at least that I can find. I made sure that i was checking for hidden files as well. MuseScore didn’t prompt me to recover my session either. It never gave any sort of message at all. I am using a Macbook to work on this. Any idea what happened and how I can fix this?
