how to change the position of the tab

I'm playing a piece on a 5 string bass and the tab is not showing the positioning for the 5 string. I have the 5 string selected as my instrument but it positions the tab at the end of the neck. I would like the tab postioned around the 5th fret so I can use the low B string for the open E. I find it easier to play some pieces up higher rather than using the open strings. I use a mac and i can find information about some keyboard shortcuts for changing it but it doesnt work. What am I missing? Can this be done? I have highlighted the entire score but don't know if I can change it all at once or do I have to go one measure at a time?
