Turn single track MIDI into audio with specific instrument soundfont.
I have a single track MIDI file, and I want to synthesize it into an audio, with a specific instrument in Musescore (e.g. Timpani).
The MIDI is a human performance, and therefore Musescore has trouble aligning it to beats and measures when opening the file directly.
Is there a way to directly convert the MIDI into an audio, without Musescore trying to turn it into a score?

No.
The main thing that MuseScore does is create scores. Everything else works from that starting point.
A program like Audacity should work.

But he wanted to use the Tympani sound from MuseScore ... or, I suspect, any Tympani sound he can get to work. Presumably the MIDI isn't a Tympani sound? Or has a horrible Tympani sound?
