File Conversion and Uploading
I converted a PDF to .mscz in order to open the score in musescore. After downloading the file and opening it, it shows up completely blank

That may imply that the conversion tool could not find anything it could convert in the file. It may work to use another conversion tool--the one available at File / Import PDF is an old version and notoriously poor at converting files that are poor in quality. There are a number of tools available, though most of them are not free.
You might attach your .PDF file and the .MSCZ file and maybe someone can look at it to see if there's anything to help.
