Dynamics do not change playback
Hi All,
No matter what dynamics I put in under my notes, I still get the same playback volume.
I've tried doing the Properties-Playback-Reset method and velocity remains at 64, as well as copy/pasting my notes into a new score, but the same playback volume occurs no matter what.
In another sort of example, one section where I wrote in accents only a few played as intended. Copy/pasting the correctly playing accented notes fixed that problem.
How can I get the dynamics to work as intended? I've used this program for several years and never seen this happen before.
Let me know what other documentation you might need.
Thank you,
MXL5

It's my understanding that "velocity" no longer plays a part in dynamics since 4.0. Only the printed p/f dynamics on the score. If they are not playing for you, you may need to select all notes and reset the Velocity to the default value (I think it's 64).
I've heard reports of this happening, particularly in scores imported from MIDI files. My recollection (which may well be faulty) is that you may need to create a new staff with the instrument in question and copy the notes from the staff that's not working to the new one, then delete the original staff (after you have verified that you got all the elements from the original staff!). If your score was not imported from MIDI, then you can ignore this paragraph completely. :-)

I got the original file from a download from another user. I just tried making a new staff, and copy/pasting, but no change. I wish there was a "Paste without formatting" option. There's clearly something hidden in those notes that I haven't ben able to adjust...
