Multiple "scores" in one file?

Is there a way to have more than one score in a file or page?

When would this be wanted?

Suppose I were making a trombone method book.

The first line on the first page might be a Bb major scale as a reference with trombone slide positions marked.

The second line might be "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

The third line might be "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"

and so on.

They are all separate exercises, not intended to be played consecutively as one work and yet it makes sense for them to all appear on the same printed page.

I can sort of get that look by breaking up one score with line breaks and manually inserting "end bar" barlines at the end of each visible line, and I could attach title text to the first measure of each line, however, they are all still really the same score and there is no way to have playback stop at the end of a particular exercise.

Another problem arises if a line is in a different key than the one above it. A courtesy key change is inserted at the end of the previous line and while it is hideable it's not possible to have the appearance of a true end bar there anymore.

With 1.3, these are your best solutions - what you've already managed, and the LibreOffice extension (which won't playback at all, and it sounds like playback is important to you, so that's probably out).

In 2.0 (currently in Beta, with updated Nightly builds also available), there are a couple of other options that will probably suit your needs better. The "section break" allows you to start a new section and with a new key and time signature easily, and you can specify the gap in playback. Or the "albums" feature allows the scores to actually be separate files but managed together in one master score.
