Headers, Footers ... and text styles
In 1.3, we lacked real Header/Footer functionality - but we did have the ability to control the appearance of running elements - i.e., page numbers and copyright - via the text style for each respective item.
Is it accurate to say that 2.0 will give us true headers and footers, but there will be no independent text styles for the discrete items that we designate to appear in the Headers/Footers/Numbers menu of Style > General...?
To use the example of page numbers and copyright again: assuming they both appear in the footer, they will share the same typeface and point size because they are now governed by a single text style called Footer.
Is that correct? I want to be sure I haven't missed something - and if I missed an earlier discussion where this was addressed, I apologize. I did search before posting, but I didn't find anything.

sorry if I'm not clear.
Do some experiments to verify.
I just tried with 3e73dc5: Header and Footer can be entered from Edit Style;
then can be edited from Edit Text Style.
To me it seems much improved over previous versions

I have already experimented, and I can see that there are no separate text styles for copyright and page number. I want to know if the trade-off for real headers and footers is that all header text must now look the same and all footer text must look the same. Sorry if my query wasn't clear.

Apparently the page numbers have the same font of header / footer.
I tried to add (see attachment) "page numbers". It seems to me that is not working yet

I'm not sure that 'not working yet' describes the situation accurately. It may be working exactly as intended, which is what I am seeking to verify from one of the developers.
If the appearance of page numbers and copyright were meant to be controllable independently of the underlying Footer text style, I am pretty sure that styles for such content would already be part of the pre-defined list of styles (just as they are in 1.3).

Actually they *can* be controlled independently, by using html-like tags, since commit fd3aaabb3
See the remark here: http://musescore.org/en/node/39571
And see the attached image:

Some of the supported tags are:
<b> <i> <u> <font face="..."/> <font size="..."/> <sym>
&, > and < can be entered as & > <

"As intended" is hard to define in a distributed development environment. My understanding is that as of today (79d553b345), it's indeed not possible to have different Text Styles (in the Style ->Text Style meaning) for different text elements in the footer. They all respect the Footer Text Style.
It's not possible to change the footer text formatting in a WYSIWYG manner to override the text style, however, if a user really want it he can enter HTML text in the Style ->Text Style -> Header, Footer, text input areas.
I recently created a page to list the known limitations of MuseScore 2.0 where it's mentioned. Correction on wording etc... are welcome http://musescore.org/en/node/39571

Thank you, ABL and lasconic, for clarifying this situation.
I expect it to be common that people will want to have, for example, their copyright text appear in a typeface different to the one they are using for page numbering.
If this will be impossible without workarounds, I would recommend that those workarounds be a part of 2.0's documentation. It's an important functionality, so it seems sensible to address it directly; otherwise, this question is bound to come up over and over again.
