yes, i saw this page, but i want to add different fingerings.
e.g. i want to change 'm' from the list to something else.

From the above referenced handbook page:
"Fingerings are normal text, which can be edited like any other text."
Also, see:

yes i can change the text after i set it to the note. But i would prefer to have this special character to the preselected list that is shown to this page
http://musescore.org/en/handbook/fingering
Also i downloaded the night build of the new version of musescore and i could not find any fingering. Is it removed to the next version or you can find it with another way?

Have you selected "Advanced"?

(s)he's on 1.x, as far as I understood.
Edit, oh, damn, reading helps sometimes, sorry for the noise

That reassures me not have to deal only with a pc ;-)
Best regards

thank you "advanced" shows the fingerings. Also by right click i can see a "properties" and "more elements" selection but both of them are disabled. How can be enabled?
In reply to thank you "advanced" shows by iglezos
Create a custom worksoace using the button next to where you selected Advaced. Then you can your own elements to the palette.
Is this mrking you are trying to add standard? If it's something everyone would bnenefit from, we should consider adding it. If it's just your own personalized variation, then that is what the custom workspaces are for.
In reply to Create a custom worksoace by Marc Sabatella
ok i created a custom workspace and a custom palet but i can not add my own fingerings.
What i try to do is to mark each note for a violin with a different finger and different number
i have created a new windows font that has these symbols and i want to have them as default to a pallet to use them for each finger.
Does this need special coding(development)?
In reply to ok i created a custom by iglezos

OK... so change (e.g. instead of '2' use '3') or add the finger number using the existing palette.
"...and different number". Do you mean string number? Those are available in the palette, yes?
"i have created a new windows font that has these symbols and i want to have them as default to a pallet to use them for each finger."
If your new font is recognized by Windows and is available, go to menu item: Style / Text / Fingering to change the font.

it is nice that i can change the font, but i want to show to the list e.g. instead of the 1 (Fingering 1)lets say 9 with a box. Not the title but the showing number.
i changed Style>Text>Fingering>Frame>Box but it does not change.
Can i do that?
In reply to it is nice that i can change by iglezos
I entered the numbers as text;
right click Style> Text> Fingering> Frame> Box;
Dragged into the palette (the box is not shown);
I drag the new symbol from the palette to the note: The box is shown
_____edit
It is not saved if you close the program
?

I try again:
I created a new palette;
I entered in the score three times the number of string "6";
Double-click on the symbol (in the score) and changed to "7";
Dragged it to the palette;
I saved the palette.
Though a circle, not a box
In reply to I try again: I created a new by Shoichi
the following steps work ok.
1. I created a new palette;
2. I entered in the score three times the number of string "6";
3. Double-click on the symbol (in the score) and changed to "7";
but the following step does not work
4. Dragged it to the palette;
i click the "7" and dragged to the new palette. but when it is over the palette space is lost and can not be dropped there.
i use nightly build abbf2c8. What version do you use?
In reply to the following steps work by iglezos
Sorry, my mistake description
Hold down Ctrl + Shift, then click on "7" and drag.
(You will see a small + symbol while dragging)
a1a14fe (but it always works so)
In reply to Sorry, my mistake by Shoichi
Then, if you feel useful, right click on the new symbol> Properties and enter a name for the label (see inserted image above)
In reply to thank you "advanced" shows by iglezos
see http://musescore.org/en/node/39841 and http://musescore.org/en/handbook/custom-palettes

yes, with ctrl+shift it works. but........
i changed string number to boxes and now at the score it displays boxes but at palette it displays circles.
It is confusing!!!
In reply to yes, with ctrl+shift it by iglezos
This is well beyond my possibilities (perhaps a modification of the file) but:
I added "7,8,9" to the palette "Fingering" they inherit the properties of the other
If you settle:
enter your symbols (although circled) then Style / Text> choose the frame (image 2)

what you propose is what i tried but the box is not shown to the palette. Probably is a matter for developement or a bug
In reply to what you propose is what i by iglezos
I think maybe it is not a bug. The palette is the same between all scores, whereas any text style change you make it specific to the score you are working on. So it would be wrong for the palette to show your change since it won't be that way if you then switch scores. You just have to trust that your current text style will be honored when you place a text item. It's that way for all other text-related palette items as well, and not just for custom palette. Note for instance the tempo markings don't change to reflect the style of the current score, etc.
