Hammer-on/Pull-off
I'm trying to tab out Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran and the main picking part has hammer-ons. How would one notate that on the Acoustic Guitar Tablature? And how do you notate it when you slap the strings?

Thanks. Do you know how you'd notate it when you slap the strings?

On Version 2.0 Beta 2 (http://musescore.org/en/node/42051) you can customize palettes http://musescore.org/en/handbook/custom-palettes
From View / Master Palette you can drag a symbol (see attached pictures here: http://musescore.org/en/node/5009 for an example)
Or perhaps use the Snap?

How would you do it on MuseScore 3? The newest version?

For the slap, it depends on your habits. What symbol do you get?
A kind of "x" (as in the Note heads palette ) or a "o" (there are several in the Symbols: View -> Master Palette -> Symbols) or other?
In reply to For the slap, it depends on by cadiz1
I'm on MuseScore 3 and I tried the 'x' in the note heads palette and it didn't work for the tablature. And the only thing in the symbols folder is a chord chart.

MuseScore 3 ?!! It does not exist :) And the previous 1.3 version doesn't allow the Tabs. Don't understand. Actually, we can use 2.0 Beta2
In reply to MuseScore 3 ?!! It does not by cadiz1
I don't know. It' the newest Beta version. The program says "MuseScore 3" and the logo is now a circle with a grey border and a creme/off-white middle with the blue "mu" with the fermata over the u.

@MHorne. For the x in tabs: True. A number or letter is not considered as a note head (!) and so, can not be changed :)
I have not thought about this issue for the moment. But I think to this workaround for now. A better one, maybe?
So, you choose a standard staff + a linked Tab staff : you input notes in the standard staff -> change note heads (via palette) -> you get this in the Tab (measure 3) . Then, you can remove the standard staff if you want.
I do not know if that is your wish?

How do you link two staffs together?
In reply to How do you link two staffs by MHorne39
The more simply for now: use the template Guitar + Tablature in: Start Center (F4) -> + Create new score -> Next -> you see the templates list
Ghost notes:
The supported way for entering ghost notes in TAB is to use the "Mirror note head" command, which is mapped to the Shift X shortcut by default (the shortcut can be changed in "Edit | Preferences", "Shortcuts", like any other shortcut).
Thanks,
M.
P.S.: Sorry for being so late in posting: I missed this thread.

yes

Tablature page in Handbook updated: documented the 'ghost' shortcut and added a summary of keys.
It would be wise to ask an English native speaker to revise the text.

Nice!
Can you notate it in the lyrics section.
