[SOLVED] pt-BR/pt-PT differences
[PLEASE DELETE THIS POST]: I was lazy and distracted and did not find that there is already a pt-BR project on Transifex.
So, I started translating yesterday.
I am Brazilian and there are some differences between the Portuguese spoken in my country and Portugal.
These differences are enough so that some key words are translated differently. As I saw no guideline and wanted to help anyway I translated the way I knew.
Anyway, here are some examples:
"Save" -> Salvar (pt-BR) / Guardar (pt-PT)
"File" -> Arquivo (pt-BR) / Ficheiro (pt-PT)
Also, some words that are phonetically the same, but written differently:
Activate -> "Ativar" (pt-BR) / "Activar" (pt-PT)
Since I don't want to unleash the fury of my Portuguese fellow speakers I posted this topic to discuss whether we have a guideline for this kind of issue and/or the necessity of distiction between languages.
Comments
I took the test and searched for occurances of Ficheiro in the pt-br translation: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/musescore/translate/#pt_BR/musesco…
No search results however. Maybe we are looking at a different place?
Same for https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/musescore/translate/#pt_BR/musesco…
or https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/musescore/translate/#pt_BR/musesco…
So basically I don't see where the problem is.
