OK! Short and sweet!
Seems a shame. I thought that was a great feature of 1.3. It interrupts my workflow to take my hand off the keyboard, grab the mouse, find the correct palette, click on it, find the correct symbol and then double click/drag.
Maybe worth considering in the future?
I still think 2.0 is a huge step forward in pretty much every other respect though. It's enabled me to ditch mac/windows in favour of linux. The only thing holding me back was my reliance on Sibelius. Not any more. And recent experience is that MScore 2.0 on Linux is more stable than Sibelius on OSX.

I am planning to implement keyboard shortcuts for all palette symbols as part of GSoC 2017. The goal is to eliminate the need for the mouse, and have all palette symbols accessible by keyboard.
