Mix in Cubase
Hello, I wonder if and how I can mix and master my Musescore in Cubase.
Is it compatible and what do I have to do?
Greetings and thanx,
Frans

You can export your score from musescore to .midi and then import it to cubase. And later do mix and mastering.
Do you mean that I'll have to make a wav.-file of my score?

No, a MIDI file - .mid. If you export to WAV, it's too late to remix, although you can certainly still apply global effects (eg, "mastering").
There are a couple of ways to do this.
The first is export as a MIDI file as Marc and another user have suggested.
The other way is to switch to JACK output. This means that you can swtich the MIDI stream to CUbase so that you can record directly from MuseScore.
The benefit of this is that you can set up your VST instruments in Cubase first and then do a test play from MuseScore to see if all is as you want it.
You can then either record the MIDI stream from MuseScore, or record the Audio from the VSTs directly.
If you need advice on how to set up JACK with Windows let me know, as I am currently working on an Ebook and video series about this.

Was searching around and came across this. Did you release an ebook or video? What setup did you settle on?

:-(
I recall ChurchOrganist manning the forums when David Bolton, and sometimes Werner himself, were actively fielding users' questions. Also, Michael created some of the early instructional videos on Youtube.

I'm so sorry to hear this! He hadn't been active here in quite a while it seems, but I did not know he died. Thanks for letting us know.
Thanx everyone.
