quarter ease of use
Hi dear them!
Request one:
I know that quarter tones are not widely used, so my request is related to middle eastern needs.
Quarter tones like the usual accidentals flat and sharp, may occur at one time or may be included permanently in a music scale. It would be good if musescore were able to create easily quarter tones with their signs on them and also let the use create their own keys containing permanent quarter tones accidental with the possibility of neutralizing them if needed while writing.
Both finale and Sibelius had addressed this issue with no success . In Finale, one created easily a key with quarter tones but it is difficult to put quarter tones while writing, in other hands, in Sibelius it is easy to add quarter tones during writing but it has not the possibility of creating adapted keys with quarter tones on them. If you guys mange to put the both possibilities in musecrores it will be a great tool.
Request two:
While writing, musescore 2 doesn't show the duration of notes. It shows only a white round head or a black one.
Thanks a lot. :)

You *can* create key signatures with microtonal accidentals in them in MuseScore - press Shift+K to display the key signature dialog. And you can easily add microtonal accidentals while writing music. However, there is no playback support yet.
As for showing duration, I don't understand what you are looking for. What indication of duration were you expecting other than the standard notehead types used in Western music notation? Something specific to Middle Eastern music?

I think he refers to that ghost note

No it is not related to Middle Eastern music, just you cannot see the difference between a quarter note and an Eighth note during the writing. As for the quarter tones in musescores they is no playback for them in musecore so far.

Ah, so as Jojo guessed, when you say "during the writing", you mean, you are using your mouse rather than the keyboard to place notes, and you are talking about the "ghost note" that follows the cursor while clicking. This is true. If it did - presumably by adding a stem and.or dots - then this ghost note would be even more in the way then it already is, so I wouldn't be in favor of such a change personally. The currently selected duration is shown in the toolbar.
