JPEG is really not well suited for graphics - it is specifically designed for photographs. PNG and SVG are much better graphic formats - they won't lose detail the way JPEG will. There shouldn't be any programs out there that cannot deal with these formats, but for some reason you really need to ()like if you *want* to lose detail :-), you can always convert to JPEG using some other program.
