Midi export of crescendo and diminuendo applied to sustained notes - is a volume change possible?
I'd be grateful for confirmation or refutation of the following in any particular, by anyone who knows more about this than I have been able to determine.
When exporting to midi, Musescore 2 can export changing midi velocities within a series of notes to which a crescendo or diminuendo marking has been applied. It does so by changing the (start) velocity of each note, but this has the limitation that each note is the same velocity within itself.
Thus a long, sustained note that is the subject of a crescendo/diminuendo marking, does not change in volume when exported to midi (nor indeed when it is played back within Musescore).
I have not been able to find a way within Musescore to set a volume CC. Does anyone know a way? Many thanks.

You understand correctly. Someday it would be good to implement support for the volume controller (and others; could be useful in other ways too) but so far no one with the necessary expertise has volunteered.

We already have support for the volume controller Marc- it's in the mixer.
It's the Expression controller (#11) that we need support for in order to achieve this.

Ah, yes, sorry.

I'm hoping that Igevorse's current work will make this possible.
Thank you very much for the information that has been posted on this topic, which is greatly appreciated.
If this feature is subsequently added to Musescore as suggest may be possible, I think that will make it the first notation software that has it; I cannot find it on rival software.
Thank you again. Kind regards
