Pianola (or 'Player Piano')
I've been listening to Nancarrow's Studies for Player Piano recently and I found inspiration to write a piece in his honour. However, I couldn't find a pianola/player piano in the list of instruments.
You might point out that the piano sounds similar enough for me to make do with that, but the Pianola (particularly older ones) do have a certain aesthetic to them that would augment my great already experience with Musescore.

Won't change the sound though.

There is no separate "pianola" sound defined by General MIDI. But it possible some specialty soundfont out there might contain samples, and if so, you can simply use that as described in the Handbook under Soundfont.
However, it is not a different instrument than piano - just a piano with special hardware added. It doesn't sound any different than other upright pianos of the same era. So it really isn't even a matter of finding a "pianola" soundfont; really just one that features the sound of a century-old upright piano.

A pianola is no different to a piano, and as we currently do not distinguish upright from grand I don't see the need to differentiate.
After all, the current default samples are taken from a Yamaha digital grand piano - the P200.

Ok, nevermind. Wasn't sure whether the upright sound was an aesthetic that defined the Pianola or not (as I now realise it obviously isn't.) I'm an idiot sometimes.
