triplets not beamed in MusicXML export
I'm using the Myriad MusicXML browser plugin and mistakenly thought that they were not rendering triplets correctly. They pointed out after examining the music xml that I had generated with MuseScore that actually the triplets are not specified to be beamed.
This link shows the corrected music xml file:

and this one shows the original music xml file created by MuseScore for the same score:

It would be lovely if this could be rectified soon,

I should also say that I'm a newbie to MuseScore and that I'm otherwise impressed and pleased with it :)

MuseScore MusicXML outputs is of course perfectible. But on this one, I disagree :) There's no beam in a quarter note triplet ! I don't get why Myriad importer expects a beam element on quarter triplet...
The MuseScore (0.9.6.1) MusicXML file and the myriad one in direct download. Find attached a quarter note tuplet MusicXML file made with Finale 2009.

Let me put it another way, when I notated my score in MuseScore I notated the quarter note triplets beamed.
I would expect that when exported that they would show up beamed in whatever other program I'm importing in.
After all, its a music interchange format. What am I missing ?

What do you call a beam? As stated here Wikipedia a beam is thick line connecting consecutive eighth notes or lower. There is no beam between quarters !
in jazz one see's triplet quarter notes quite often however I didn't have to go far to find them otherwise see here:

I know what tuplet is, thanks for that ;) Quarter notes in tuplet or not are not beamed. Never. There could be a bracket spanning over the three notes, but that's not a beam.

I'm sorry, wrong terminology , my apologies for continuing the madness. What I mean is designated as triplets with the typical triplet marking and I suppose that is called a bracket :). I don't know why I called them "beamed" , I know what a beam is as well :) . I guess the only reason I kept that terminology going was because of the response in the Myriad plugin. The gentleman is French and perhaps "beamed" is his translation :)

To be specific , I want this:
http://screencast.com/t/MWZjMGNiZWQt
to export and import to look the same i.e. triplet brackets over quarter notes when loaded into the Myriad plugin.
There is something that the Myriad user , an administrator and perhaps part of the dev team, did to the MuseScore MusicXML export to make it show up right in the Myriad Plugin. As I posted in that forum , Sibelius will take the MuseScore MusicXML export and import that so it renders correctly. Therefore, Sibelius is either correcting for an issue or understanding the "triplet" nature of the quarter note from other elements in the XML.
The bottom line is that I need to make it work because I can't stand how Scorch plugin lays out which is why I am using the Myriad plugin and in turn using MuseScore.

hi, I believe that you are also in the Myriad plugin or pehaps somebody else that is knowledgeable about the MusicXML spec can explain better than I can to Didier , how to determine quarter note triplets or why the "beam" command is not required. See my last comments in that thread:

thanks in advance

Yes, I'm in the discussion on the myriad forum and I'm from France. I will keep on the discussion there.
It was a bug in the myriad plugin and will be solved in next version. See the full discussion on Myriad Forum.
Thank you open source.
