shift+note doesnt work with midi

Could anyone using a midi controller confirm this bug?

When i press and release shift, the cursor gets stuck in the previous chord and any note i enter on my midi controller gets added to that chord. I expect this behavior to happen only while i got shift pressed, and then when i release shift, i expect any new note to get written on a new beat, which is not happening.
