directing midi to Bandstand
Hi, I want to bypass the soundFont on playback and instead just pump the midi to the loopBe1 internal port I have setup on which I have Bandstand listening. Can't seem to do that from the I/o preference page.
thanks

MuseScore does not provide MIDI out, so it's not possible directly. If you are adventurous, you can try to setup Jack and MuseScore and use the following : MuseScore->JackMIDI->JackServer->LoopBe1->Bandstand
Here is a short tutorial : http://musescore.org/node/3267

Honestly, don't want to be adventurous at all but rather I was hoping to do this as a workaround to a playback issue I encountered. I exported midi from Band in the Box and well it didn't sound that great. For one, the drums are totally off and I'm hearing what seemed to be lag in some of the tracks, more delay like. The band in the box midi export certainly had some CC events since the tracks have chorus and reverb on it. As fas as I know its exporting a GM map. The other tracks besides the delay like issues playback the correct pitch values but in the case of the drums , its like its not mapped at all.

maybe the drums playback would be corrected by using a different SoundFont ? there was a lot of latin percussion perhaps the stock sound font is not well mapped for those instruments ?
thanks in advance

The best way is to try it. You have several free soundfont linked in the handbook: Read Soundfont

A standard MIDI file sounds like this:"
playback from Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth with a severe low-pass filter purposely applied over it and the volume lowered
