Request for bend symbol features
I cannot get the results I want from the current bend symbol. I don't need complicated multi step bends: just bend up, bend down and perhaps prebend (up to a whole tone for each one).
One thing you cannot do with the current symbols (afaik) is to create just a bend down symbol with an arrow the mirror image of the bend up.
Would it be possible to supply, in the palette, just simplified bend down and bend up symbols, with the user able to customise the text?

Could you provide a picture?
As in:
but without the prebend. Does the current bend symbol suit the needs of the "ordinary player" as well as the "power user". How many will use the multi-step capacity of the tool compared to, say, its ability to create straightforward half- and full-tone up- and down-bends?
For example, how to notate the following, in the TAB line only, with the MS bend symbol:
The bend provided will not extend in width to cover the notes 8 to (8). But if there was a separate bend down feature it could be done as two bends, perhaps. And some way of adjusting the height.
Shouldn't the bend symbol include the ability to create just a down-bend if needed?
Though the current bend feature may be perfectly serviceable for many user, I find the bends too high, as in the following example:
Some way to adjust the height (and width) perhaps? And there seems to be a mismatch between the "1" and the "4" in the fraction. (nightly build: do48bbc)

It is, of course, possible to modify the bend symbols and save modifications to palette, so you can have 1/4, 1/2, full- note bends already set up. But the user cannot customise the height, which seems to be hard coded so that the text appears at the top of the TAB.
The image below shows a problem with the bend symbol. The staff indicates a half bend up (D to D#), then the bent note is plucked again and allowed to bend down. But you really need two symbols for this in the TAB. The first symbol is adequate but currently there is no way of indicating a second bend down (D# to D):

Can you psot an image showing what you think this symbol should look like? Preferably taken from a published source.
I've put together a few simple graphics of what I have in mind:
You can generate the upbends using the existing tool, though the curve is not as smooth as the one shown – could this be improved?
The downward bends, however, cannot be created as separate entities, only in combination with other bends, from the bend tool. I think it is assumed that the user would want to notate the sequence of bends (prebend, up, down, etc.) in one symbol. But, in my experience this may not be flexible enough for all users. That is why I would like to see the facility to create downward bends separately, if desired, as shown above.
I believe that the ability to adjust the height and width of the symbol is also desirable. And in the case of simple up or down bends could the curve be made smoother (as above)?
Here is another example of where bends could be improved:
The bend is too high and ends at the wrong voice. Also, it would look better if the curves were smoother.
The above bend was produced by this entry in the bend tool:
What are the units of the horizontal axis? It seems that the more points you create, the wider the bend; but it seems to be trial-and-error.

I believe the unit on the horizontal axis is time. However for each new point, MuseScore will draw a line of one spatium (the space between two staff lines) length, so by adding more points you make the line artificially longer.
