Time signature
how do you create a new time signature - see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/time-signature-0. On the main toolbar the 3rd item "Create" drop down menu (after "Edit") shows "Time signature" and a "create a time signature" popup on the right with the "Add" button. There are 5 slots to fill in - I only need 2 to do 15/8 !! You can bring the 2 on the right down to 0 but only to 1 in the square underneath and then the signature prints 15+1 with a 1 underneath.
Can anyone tell me how to make a simple 15/8 time signature which shows as 15/8 on the page ?
Thanks

To create a 15/8 time signature (not sure why you need this, are you really sure you want this? and it's not a measure with triplet?), you can watch this video.

After upgrading to 2.0.1 doing a 15/8 time signature was a piece of cake ! You certainly need weird time signatures like this in modern music, which can ask for any numer of notes of any kind in a bar or even changing signature within a bar - so keep it easy, if you can, by allowing any number both up and down.
Many thanks for the help

Nice one! That should be added to the "MuseScore HowTo" channel.

Hi Zack,
I presume it is you who will do that. I don't know how to and couldn't see the "MuseScore HowTo" channel anyway.
Best regards

Actually, I'm not in charge of the YouTube channel, but you can see it at https://www.youtube.com/user/MuseScoreHowTo/videos.
A few years ago there were a lot of tutorials and "QuickTips" posted, but it seems none recently beyond the flagship "MuseScore in Minutes" series. I think it would be great to post more additional tips… like "How to create a custom time signature in MuseScore 2".

@Zack We reserve the MuseScoreHowTo channel for high quality contributions. Lasconic's video is great but a voice over would be a minimum. So if someone would make a voice over, we can add it as a quick tip in the howto channel.

I've written a script for the video (attached). Should I record it, or would you rather have George Hess do it?

Go ahead, record it !

Okay, here it is. I'm not really proud of it—despite my best efforts and numerous tweaks to the script, it's incredibly difficult to get the words to line up with the action. I suppose you may be able to adjust little pieces of the audio and video independently in whatever software you use to merge them, and make it work a little bit better. If not, it's up to you to judge whether this is good enough.
Note: change the file extension to OGG! This is not a MuseScore file. ;-)

Could you upload it to your youtube channel as an unlisted video and share the link? It's more convenient for all ;)
Edit: sorry, I thought it was a video already. Well, it's perfect! Seriously, well done!

Thank you very much! My only concern is how well it synchronizes with lasconic's video.
Did you know, I just forked, cloned, and pull requested. Wow. Thank you for that, as well. :-) #67311: Change "Trb." to "Tbn." and "Vlc." to "Vc." in instruments.xml

I amplified the audio with audacity but it's not ideal. Next recording, try to put the mic on maximum volume without clipping. You can check out the result at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tbSsIIF2dw (still being processed as we speak)

Yes, sir. Thank you! It seems that the video has been somewhat cropped—the menu bar has disappeared.
EDIT: Okay, the video has gone public! But it's still badly cropped. Can it be fixed?
15/8 is a pretty specific number to come up with so I suspect that it is, indeed, wanted. [Shift]t, enter 15, drop-down menu to select 8, [Add] button and drag it onto your score.
