More than one user has mistaken the repeat button for a pause button (see for example http://musescore.org/en/node/6917#comment-19904 )

Proposed solution: Remove repeat icon from the tool bar. Possibly add a check box to the Display > Play Panel dialog with the label "Play repeats" instead of an icon.

CalemBendell is taking up the challenge to redesign the UI icons. See http://musescore.org/en/node/6807
This can be addressed in the same effort.

The original title was correct. It is the Play Repeats icon (not the Play button) that is the subject of this thread.

The icon has since been redesigned - looks much better in my opinion.
